Mining

Mining and exploration in the Arctic provide both opportunities and challenges. The Arctic represents a poorly explored area providing the possibility of finding large mineral deposits needed for global development. However, the remoteness and climate of the Arctic, conflicts in land-use, and vulnerable eco-systems result in logistic and ecological challenges for exploration.
